SUP stand-up paddle or pure sun vacation
How does the SUP work?
Even beginners get along very quickly with the board. Stand-up paddlers usually stand with their legs apart in the middle of a board and use a paddle to propel themselves through the water. Similar to canoeing, the paddle is dipped left and right to steer the SUP.
The right SUP for everyone
In the beginning, regular surfboards were repurposed and used for paddling while sitting or standing. The further development were hardcover boards as SUP. In the meantime, inflatable boards in particular have established themselves with their uncomplicated handling. They are available in a wide variety of sizes and designs. Lighter people get along well with the shorter SUP; if you weigh a few kilos more, you should rather choose a slightly longer board. An "all-rounder model" is recommended for beginners, which is a bit wider and therefore lies calmly in the water.
SUP-er fit on the go
Try it out! You will quickly notice the positive effects of the sport. Even while paddling comfortably on the beach, arm and torso muscles are trained. At the same time, you need counter-tension in your legs, which challenges the muscle groups there. It is up to you how sporty you are while paddling, but with stand-up paddling you definitely also strengthen your deeper muscles because you use them continuously to keep your balance. In addition, driving the SUP promotes concentration and coordination.
Yoga on the SUP
It is particularly appealing to combine yoga and SUP: the board replaces the yoga mat. The instability of the water automatically strengthens the deep muscles of the yogis. In the midst of beautiful nature, the combination of water sports and yoga ensures an intensive experience of the elements and thus enables particularly relaxing experiences.
maintain SUPs
To ensure that you can enjoy your SUP for as long as possible, you should follow a few basic care tips. After use in salt water, you should rinse it thoroughly under running water and remove any salt crystals. Inflatable SUPs should not be stored in the blazing sun, especially in the midday hours of summer, as they could burst under certain circumstances. At the end of the season you should thoroughly clean your board of dirt with a mild cleaning agent and let it dry completely before storing it.
